While I temporarily make my home with my parents, I get two bonus friends.
This is Jeremy (Jerry, Mr J). He’s about 3 and a half. He’s sleek and plump like a basking seal pup. He’s very food orientated (but not pushy – he just becomes very affectionate and gives you an intent look) He’s very sensitive about you touching his stomach but adores his chin being stroked. Sometimes he just walks up to my mum and bites her ankles; no one else. He was a rescue, found wandering along a main road when he was about 5 months old.
Molly is Jeremy’s older adoptive sister (although they mostly just glare and spit at each other). She was also rescued from a neglect situation as a kitten and is now about 4 years old. She’s an excellent mouser – too good – and brings home furry and feathery treats on an almost daily basis. She prefers dry old cat biscuits and won’t eat human food, much to my dad’s perplexment. She is lithe and slender (unlike her plump little brother) and extremely stripy.
Molly is under the mistaken impression that she’s helpful.
