Wordle-ing your novel

I can never resist a good wordle. A wordle is a word cloud generated from a bunch of text, in this case the 95,655 words in the first draft of City of Djinn, my nanowrimo novel. The larger the word, the more often it appears.

It can be an interesting exercise to use on your novel. As you’d expect, the character names come up the most and it’s interesting to see who is more prominent as I had five main characters.

Thank god the word ‘sighed’ doesn’t appear. Sometimes I felt like I was writing the next Twilight novel.

ooh what a gorgeous idea that is 🙂 thanks jen – shall be wordleing (wordling? wordeling? anyway.) something as soon as I can find something to wordle!

Congratulations on finishing NaNoWriMo though – I’m impressed 🙂 (and will happily test read!)
