A crafty Christmas

Being unemployed this year I decided to make (rather than buy) as many xmas presents as possible. This seemed to go down well with the recipients (or they’re just very polite – I can’t rule that out) but by golly it was a lot of work.

Here are a few of the things I made. First up, a model of Mr Jeremy, sculpted from super sculpy (an oven bake clay like fimo) and painted. Here’s the real Jerry, enjoying the company of his favourite mouse toy.

And here’s miniature Jerry with mouse toy (sewn from felt) and fleece rug (felt and permanent marker). The eagle-eyed may notice that the eyes on the model mouse don’t have any pupils. That’s because Jerry has chewed them off.

Big J meet little J. He was quite disappointed when he realised it wasn’t a cat treat.

Here’s an acrylic painting I did of the coast near St Ives.
